Weather plane crash claims ten lives near McClellan Field
A B-29 weather reconnaissance aircraft crashed near Antelope three and a half miles north of McClellan Field in Sacramento tonight. All ten aboard were killed, with witnesses saying the four engine Superfortress exploded in mid air and again upon striking a plowed field. The Air Force said there were no survivors and the plane was returning from a routine weather reconnaissance flight.
