A Pennsylvanian WAC and a New York Air Force enlisted man were involved in the case. Havel B. Werner, 31, was found beaten and strangled in his Fresno apartment. Mrs. Hazel Werner, former Hazel Benson of Quakertown, Pa, worked for the FHA in Fresno. her estranged husband Edgar A. Werner, 31, of Watervliet, N. Y., is being sought statewide. The scene showed a claw hammer and a shoelace used in the crime.
