Los Angeles County Supervisors Trim Budget Amid Tax Debate
Los Angeles County supervisors on Tuesday approved adding 44 million to the 1977 spending package and deleting 232 thousand, keeping the property tax rate at 1.58 per hundred valuation. They carried over 12 million in revenue sharing funds for community groups and 140 thousand for an assessor audit. The board funded home polio care at 210 thousand and approved 32.9 million in proposed capital projects, including three Rancho projects, while preserving a school dropout program and issuing an eight thousand six hundred dollar Rose Parade float budget. Talks continue on a potential RTD subsidy with a Thursday deadline looming.
