Marines on trial in child death in Santa Ana court
Two Marines Charles Randall and Craig Hibner both 22 faced murder, child abuse and felonious assault charges in the Feb 21 death of Krista M. Thomas. Their mother Holly Thomas, Immunity granted, was to testify as a witness. Judge Dickey imposed a protective gag order, then reassigned the case to Judge Murray who kept the gag in place. The infant was found dead after alleged beating and submersion in water. Separately in Sacramento a bill to bar jet aircraft from Oakland International Airport north runway cleared the Assembly 642 to move to the Senate.
