Irvine van crash kills 6 year old in Irvine
A six year old boy died in a collision between a small van and a semitrailer on Jeffrey and Barranca roads in Irvine. Ten children and one adult were injured. the van driver Carolyn A. Connors, 23, and several children were hospitalized in serious to minor condition. The van belonged to Rough Riders day care camp in Fountain Valley. the truck driver James E. Bartley, 45, was uninjured.

Woman acquitted in defense of mother in homicide

Westside Rapist suspects released for lack of evidence
Two young Los Angeles men Vicent M. Harris and Turrell Watts were freed after investigators found insufficient evidence tying them to a series of rapes and murders of elderly women. In San Diego a burglar who stole a flight bag found a six foot boa constrictor inside the bag. Irene Davidson released after Sunday arrest following the stabbing and shovel attack on Raymond Charles which killed him. Mrs. Davidson and her husband were at home during the incident.
