Girl found at Norwalk hospital after disappearance
Jeanine Marie Evans, a Carmelitos resident with epilepsy and mental capacity around 8 or 9, was identified Monday at Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk after being missing for a week. Her mother Diana Shuster had called the hospital seeking news. a nurse recognized her from reports in the Independent Press-Telegram. The girl, who left home on Via Veranda in Carmelitos, was found near the city limits by a bus driver and taken to the hospital where doctors will decide when she may return home.
