U S forces suffered two killed and 16 wounded in four accidents in Vietnam while air and ground actions intensified elsewhere. The 199th Infantry Brigade reported a casualty at Can Duoc south of Saigon, with seven wounded. A new Delta Battlefleet concept using gunboats and fast assault craft was highlighted as part of a broader strategic push. In Washington, surplus property mismanagement was criticized, with broken equipment rotting.
