Pressure chamber training splits airline crews over decompression debate
The FAA and airlines spar over mandatory rapid decompression training after an American Airlines DC10 episode. The Air Force requires pilots and crews to undergo physiological pressure-chamber training, while major U.S. carriers say such exposure is unnecessary given its infrequency. Eleven sources note the training is available for five dollars through a joint FAA-armed forces program, but few flight attendants have joined.
