Governor Edwards testifies on Korean gift to wife
Washington governor Kenia Edwards testified behind closed doors about a $10,000 envelope given to his wife Elaine by Koreas wheeler-dealer Tongson Park. He said Park pressed money on him and his wife after he refused, noting Park had no direct connection to the Korean government. Edwards described the gift as a contribution and said he learned of it in 1974 during an inquiry, stressing he never received funds himself.
