County to hire 475 for hospital bill collection drive
Los Angeles County Supervisors approved adding 475 workers to clear a backlog of hospital bills totaling about 260 million to 804 million, with 275 regular staff and 200 CETA workers to be evaluated for cost effectiveness. Officials warn much debt may be uncollectable under current law.
