FDA chief cites misleading ads on analgesic and margarine claims
Commissioner Charles C Edwards of the Food and Drug Administration criticized two ads for a headache remedy and a margarine claiming heart disease prevention. He noted no adequate scientific data backing the claims and highlighted differing roles with the FTC. The FDA and FTC are reviewing such advertising while new safeguards emerge. In Kruger National Park, black rhinos have been reintroduced after 35 years.
