Businessman Found Dead in His Store
A 59-year-old Long Beach businessman was found dead Tuesday in his shop at 225 Pine Ave. The victim, Maurice Arwas of 177 South Mansfield Ave Los Angeles, apparently died of a heart attack. He was found near the rear door by his wife Flora and daughter-in-law Vickie Tawil when she arrived to open the shop shortly after 9 45 a.m. Mrs Arwas said she grew concerned when he did not return home after store hours Monday.

Way Clear for Early Hoffa Trial

Titan Missile Accident Kills Technician at Launch Center
A 24 year old technician Joseph G Striole of Cocoa Beach was killed when a Titan missile explosive charge ignited a flare package during preflight checks at the missile test center. Nine other workers suffered minor injuries as investigators noted this was the first missile fatality after about ten years of testing. The firing was scheduled later this week.
Aid to Chile totals 3.25 million francs in relief gifts
Geneva report from the Red Cross notes 39 national societies contributed 3,250,000 lite francs in aid for Chile earthquake victims. The funds will buy materials and food, with the Swiss franc valued at just over 23 cents.
