Shell Kerpe Staff Plans Next Race Amid 1954 Talk
Sacramento Assemblyman Joseph C Shell, Republican, said on Tuesday he plans to retain a 5 to 10 person staff to keep his name alive for future races whether in two, four, or six years. He would fund most of the staff, with HQ in Los Angeles and a branch in San Francisco or Sacramento, and noted he’s still receiving 600 to 800 letters daily with donations from 1 to 1 800. He added circumstances will determine his next venture and that a run against Senator Clair Engle in 1954 hasn’t been seriously considered.
