Sports Editor Hank Hollingworth Deeply Committed to Beat
The longtime executive sports editor recalls a varied career from the Army Air Force to the Sacramento Union and Compton Journal before joining this paper. He now runs the spars section, writes daily, and supervises two staffs while keeping a seven day work habit. His greatest thrills include 1959 Dodgers pennant, 1958 Jon Arnett TDs, and 1958 Silver Spoon’s Santa Anita record. The trend he notes is increasing brainwork and fewer aimless players in modern sports.
