Fullerton State Foundation Defends Against Legislator Charges
Fullerton officials countered charges by a state legislator that the foundation faced financial trouble. They said the 1968 69 books show a profit near 50 000 and that organizational issues have been corrected. The group runs two off campus dormitories housing 572 students and operates a campus bookstore planned to move back on campus.

Briggs allegedly used information printed in local newspapers in 1968 as part of charges. Dennison says the entire operation was investigated then and all recommendations have been incorporated into the program. The foundation undergoes regular audits by a private firm, the state Department of Finance, and the Auditor General.
