Long Binh Post a fading American base in Vietnam
Long Binh in Vietnam remains a large base near Saigon as withdrawal accelerates. The 17,000 acre site hosts about 8,000 soldiers and 90 civilians, with Viet Cong history and a growing civilian labor presence. Army life centers on clerical work, recreation, and dwindling military activity as plans to pull out continue.
