Dear Abby column on love, psychiatry and social norms
A reader asks if unmarried, widowed, or divorced people should lack love and if love can be separated from sex. Abby replies that sex for sex lacks love, while love is selective, and promiscuous love contrasts with restraint in sex. The column then includes letters on psychiatric treatment, job eligibility, and social rules, plus a note on personal replies and a Long Beach wreath ceremony at Gold Star Manor memorial.
