Three San Diego County sheriff's reserve deputies carried an injured Long Beach man on a stretcher for nine miles out of a canyon in Baja California. George Hoey, 28, of 2151 Euclid Ave, suffered a severe ankle sprain from a motorcycle crash Sunday in a canyon 46 miles southeast of Ensenada. Deputies Tony Hemus Gerald Curtis and Jim Jones walked in after Hoey, as the canyon was too narrow for jeeps. Hoey and three others began a bike trip on Thursday.
