Coast Guard to Probe Sinking of Two Boats in Los Angeles Harbor
The U S Coast Guard will hold a formal investigation today into a harbor collision that sank two boats and injured three people Monday near Berths 132 133 in the west basin. The 40 foot Western Fisher and 35 foot Andele sank while the 102 t Mogul and 147 foot Sea Cloud towed the 3400 ton Seward loaded with lumber. Injured were Beth Weaver 43 a resident of Uncle Lee John Dona Toni 37 Lomita and Martin Tekich to be confirmed. The Coast Guard will meet at 750 N Broad Wilmington.

Prosecutor Williams alleges the men defrauded Textile Banking Co of about 187000 with bank loaned proceeds tied to large carpet sales. The company supplied carpeting to developers and large projects.
