Heavy Wallace write in could slow vote count
Los Angeles County Registrar Allison warned that a heavy write in for George Wallace in the June 6 primary could delay tallying in Los Angeles County. He hired extra staff for a possible Wallace vote hand count and would release periodic tallies overnight. Absentee ballots numbered over 60 000 with at least 500 expected to be cast.
