Franco May Pick a New Chief of State
Reports from Madrid say aging Francisco Franco may lighten official burdens soon by naming a new chief of government and eventually a president of the national government. Officials note Franco’s thoughts are unknown but some believe a summer move could occur, while others doubt a long wait. If carried out, the change would clarify the political outlook ahead of upcoming organic law revisions and elections.
