Farewell Rose for Preacher in Big Spring service
In Big Spring Texas Dr P D O'Brien preached his final sermon at the First Baptist Church as Nat Schick a 77 year old retired postmaster who for 18 years financed two red rosebuds each Sunday revealed he had sent the roses since 1942. The florist delivered the roses after a pledge that the donor would be revealed only if the rose near death or the pastorate ended. O'Brien said Schick explained he sent roses because O'Brien was his friend and pastor and saved the roses. Mexico City reports divorce rate up 20 percent with over 6,000 couples divorced since January.
