Plains families displaced over house near Carters
In Plains Georgia the Pittmans a Black family were forced to move from a deteriorating shack across from Jimmy Carter after neighbors and local interests cited it as an eyesore. The owner claimed no political pressure and Carter said he did not influence the sale, while Pittmans plan to relocate to Americus and maintain a garden at a new housing project.
