Grits and Fritz slogan sparks Plains campaign talk
Democratic nominee Jimmy Carter said he has no objection to the slogan Grits and Fritz for him and Mondale, noting it reflects a meld between the North and South. He spoke at a Plains picnic and attended church with Mondale and their wives, while Mondale eyed a growing familiarity with grits this week. The piece covers Carter's remarks on faith, church unity, and a coming round of briefings by defense and economic experts next week.
