Murder solved in West L A grocer case wife used code
Los Angeles police said the 1954 murder of 48 year old David Nagin was solved after his wife Lucy Feldkamp 17 used a neighbor phone to say my baby is sick a code when husband in jail. She alerted police leading to James Feldkamp 24 an insurance salesman charged with the crime. Feldkamp initially denied links but later confessed to shooting Nagin after learning he was wealthy. He claimed he shot himself in the arm during the fusillade and drove to Mexicali with his wife 14 for treatment.
