Jacoby South clinches contract in tricky bridge play
South, facing a heart opening, decides to draw trumps early but saves dummy's trumps as potential winners. He starts with a club lead, West ducks, then South ventures two rounds of trumps and a second club. If West ducks again, a third club breakthrough yields the contract with an overtrick. West’s best shot was a diamond lead to set up two immediate defensive tricks.
