Nixon to visit Asia and Romania on world tour
President Nixon plans a 12 day worldwide trip beginning with a moon splash view from the Hornet and visits to Romania and Great Britain. The Romania stop is seen as a signal to Soviet influence while he seeks to keep Russian talks friendly and avoid antagonizing Moscow. The Southeast Asia leg aims to craft a new long term policy while disengaging from Vietnam.
