Report says a Thursday sweep by supporters cleared Haight Street of trash transforming it into a model street briefly. Hours later shots rang out and officers were attacked as Hashbury faced a third consecutive night of trouble with forty eight arrests. Mayor Alioto and Police Chief Cahill pledged firm policing.
