Soblen Loses Liberty Plea but Will Appeal
Soblen loses his liberty appeal in a high court case and plans an appeal. He had sought asylum from the Home Office as a political refugee, with officials saying the asylum request would be considered on its merits after a final court decision. The Home Office is effectively barred from deporting the fugitive spy, who claims leukemia and blood cancer will kill him soon, as he awaits consequences of his crime against security. He cut himself and injured his abdomen aboard a July flight to New York after fleeing Tel Aviv, posting $109,000 bail earlier.
