Plane crashes near Long Beach airport injures none

A single engine four place light plane crashed on Lakewood Boulevard near Long Beach Municipal Airport. Pilot Paul Moenning 25 and student Carlos McCarty 16 escaped unharmed and walked to the airport after the impact which damaged the plane and knocked down about 100 feet of fence.

Long Beach Transit Workers Ratify Three Year Contract

Long Beach Public Transportation Co drivers and mechanics overwhelmingly ratified a new three year contract Wednesday, avoiding a midnight strike that would have affected about 40 000 riders.
