L B writer to lift veil on Hughes secret life
San Francisco reports that Howard Hughes plans a book based on interviews with two aides who lived with him for a decade before his death. James Phelan, a Long Beach writer, confirms the project for Random House but withholds many details. The account cites Gordon Margulis and Mell Stewart as sources and notes Hughes's guarded private life, shifts in residence, and contracts restricting former associates from talking.
