Rutgers University researchers report in a five year study that among 25 to 55 year old men with high blood alcohol levels involved in crashes, a large share were alcoholics or heavy drinkers. The study says one or two drinks do not raise accident risk versus abstinence. The article notes many offenders had prior problem drinking histories.
