The City Council committee voted to conduct a full investigation into the June 23 battle between police and 10 000 antiwar demonstrators outside Century Plaza Hotel. Hearings are set for Sept 18 after written reports from the police commission and the citizens involved.
Tong Beach police report a car burglary stealing a tool box and contents valued at 235 dollars plus one dollar in parking meter change from a vehicle owned by Mary M. Pace of 870 West 19th Street. The sedan was parked on Lime Avenue near Broadway.
