Operation Fizzle Ends Vietnam Elephant Aid Experiment
In Tra Bong Vietnam Army Special Forces airlifted two elephants Bonnie and Clyde to haul logs for a new sawmill project but the plan collapsed. The elephants proved too small and the village lost supplies as Montagnard resentments grew and production halted. The effort cost thousands and faces abandonment.
