Rival Tax Rebate Measures Go to Senate
In Sacramento the Senate Finance Committee approved two rival income tax rebate bills. Moscone-backed 20 percent rebate with $150 cap for couples and $75 for singles, and Deukmejian backed 10 percent rebate costing $100 million. Both tie to 1968 earnings and 1968 tax paid. Debates expected next week. Reagan reform plan also revised to include a one cent sales tax and about 25 percent higher personal income taxes.
