Wings break off during ground test of FINA before Vietnam duty

Fire Seorches 125 Acres in Marin County
A smoky grass and brush fire scorched 125 acres in an uninhabited part of Marin County Saturday before more than 145 firefighters brought it under control. The blaze crossed toward San Rafael but no homes burned as 25 to 30 mph winds fanned the flames. Four state Forestry planes dropped chemical retardants seven times to contain the fire in the Gold Hill area of Black Canyon with help from volunteers and 70 Hamilton Air Force Base personnel.

Geurin Bradley, 22, of Lomita, was flying a gasoline powered model plane near 1625 Sportsman Drive when it hit power lines. He was knocked down, burned on the right hand, and shocked, then treated at Dominguez Valley Hospital and released.
