Woman Lost Off Boat Deck Near Los Angeles Breakwater

A 44 year old Huntington Beach woman, Jane I Nichols, disappeared from a 40 foot pleasure craft near the Los Angeles breakwater while fishing with Dorothy Smith and others aboard the Valiant owned by Tom Rankin. Nichols was last seen about 3 30 p m and believed to have fallen overboard and drowned. Rankin and Smith located no trace as the boat headed toward San Pedro with Nichols missing from the galley area.
