Cranston backs moratorium on offshore oil leasing
Senator Alan Cranston and Senator Ernest Hollings sponsor a bill to pause offshore oil land leasing until USGS exploration precedes any sale. The plan, opposing FordAdmin leases, requires state input and a 90 day congressional review, with $200 million for exploration in 1976 77.
