Norwalk Honored for Handicapped Access Ordinance
Norwalk celebrates its disability access law praised by Barrier Free Norwalk and the Hawaiian Gardens Hot Shots. The measure requires new buildings with city funds or over 10 000 square feet to include ramps wider doors lower controls and accessible fixtures and funds 64 sidewalk ramps. The city operates a Dial A Ride wheelchair transit system and may seek an All American City Award in March.
