Two Make It Safely From Tragedy's Site
In Laguna Hills at 272 Avenida Sevilla two people survived a fiery apartment crash after jets collided in a noon rainstorm. Robert Cook, 63, and his 81 year old mother in law Mrs Cora Nichols escaped the blaze as three others perished. Residents recalled explosions and falling wreckage while witnesses described pilots ejecting before the planes struck the eight unit building. The disaster drew relief efforts near Leisure World and the nearby Methodist Church as families sought loved ones.
