Bell’s tetraKite tops Bell's phone in 75 year kite run
The tetrahedral Bell design, produced by Synestructics Inc. of Chatsworth, debuted in 1973 and remains influential. The four-sail tetraKite measures 33 inches per edge while the 16-sail version spans 5% feet, claimed as among the largest sold commercially. The firm markets the Skylinks System to build varied kites. Bank says the system enables beginners and experts to pick along with wind and aims for large projects like a Brooklyn Children’s Museum labyrinth and an Atlantic Richfield TV commercial.
