A 35 year old babysitter was arrested at L A X and a 21 month old girl missing since last Wednesday was returned to her mother in Long Beach. The child Donna Marie Davis showed malnutrition and was unharmed. Laura Mae Knettles faces child stealing charges and will have a psychiatric exam. she claimed to be flying to Singapore and staying at a motel near the airport. Police doubt her account and believe she walked with the baby since last Wednesday. Governor Reagan set February 25 for a special election to replace the late Senator Miller Jr.

Pair Pacing Arraignment in Slaying
Huntington Beach waitress Marguerite Dinger and her boyfriend Norm Coatney will be arraigned on a murder charge in connection with the stabbing death of 55 year old Hester Sutton Markee. Her body was found in the roadway near her auto beside Huntington Beach Municipal Golf Course. An abandoned car with blood was found in an oil field near the golf course. Dinger's car was registered to her. Dinger and Coatney were arrested after detectives visited their home. Markee was a receptionist at an optometrist office. Dinger works as a waitress. Coatney is a Philco Ford engineer.

Mother’s plea leads to arrest of son for drug paraphernalia
Mrs. Alexa J. Davison of 1326 East 63rd Street urged police to arrest her 19 year old son Donald Lee Davison after she disclosed an injection kit. He allegedly fled a yard fence before surrendering to Officers Titus and White at Long Beach jail on drug paraphernalia possession charges. Davison reportedly admitted past heroin use but claimed the kit wasn’t his.
