Does hospitalization help mental illness
Dear Mrs R The current estimate is that about one in ten people will be hospitalized at some point for emotional problems. Hospitals provide a protected environment, 24 hour observation, thorough evaluation, and access to therapeutic staff. They can help patients by allowing interaction with other patients and by offering a place to regress and heal. If local facilities are inadequate, join the local mental health association to push for improvements.
