Pacific Coast Club sale raises plan for Norman building

Ray Brosterhous told the appeals board he would initiate condemnation proceedings if the owners fail to meet building and safety standards. Robson pledged restoration plans and said a structural engineer is drafting renovation work for the Norman style building, with a study within two weeks to a month and work possible within 120 days of a permit. Costs could reach 2.5 million as Del Guzzi Construction plans to convert it into an athletic club, while former owner John W. Samuel and Mrs. Olshane loom over ownership records as creditors press. The building, long deteriorating, has drawn scrutiny from the board and local officials.
