Wayfarers Chapel a memberless church with world reach
The Wayfarers Chapel on Palos Drive South overlooks the Pacific draws about 500000 visitors yearly as a landmark, artful Lloyd Wright design, and seven day open church. It serves weddings and memorials while emphasizing life over death though it has no formal members. The Swedenborgian church traces back to Emanuel Swedenborg and the site was dedicated in 1949 with donors funding its acres.

Col. Heath Bottomly a Norton Air Force Base combat flyer with 300 missions tells how a phone call from a son changed him to Christianity. He credits a North Vietnam incident and a shifted order by President Johnson with ending a court martial. He now serves in military ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ.
