Peking Nuclear Test May Have Failed Ignition
The Atomic Energy Commission cites two failures in the recent Chinese thermonuclear device: material present but not ignited and a weak detonation. The apparent malfunction accompanies China’s seventh test since October 1964, not publicly acknowledged by Beijing. Burglars entered a car at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach and stole a stereo tape recorder with tapes worth 175 dollars.
