Gaps seen in NYT probe on Dr King death plot theories
A six week New York Times investigation found little firm evidence of a conspiracy in the 1968 assassination of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Officials say James Earl Ray acted alone or with uncertain co conspirators while witnesses and prior probes yielded few solid leads. Ray refuses to testify citing fear of reprisals in prison.
