Long Beach police captured William Bell a 49 year old transient within twenty minutes of a holdup at the First Western Bank. Bell was seized in a barber shop at 137 East First Street after the teller reported the crime and the bank manager alerted authorities. About 700 dollars was taken and later recovered. Police credited three wheeler unit officers and civilian assistance with the arrest.
