Viet artillery fired by mistake at the Bien Hoa Air Base near Saigon, killing three U.S. soldiers and wounding 20 as five 105mm rounds exploded in the camp area. The fire occurred in two salvos, one at 10 p.m. Tuesday and another at 2 a.m. today.

In Jerusalem Golda Meir proposed reciprocal ceasefire observance in the absence of peace as Israeli planes hit Egyptian depots storing Soviet missiles within 20 miles of Cairo triggering air raid sirens.
