Further Rainfall Expected In Southern California

A fast moving weather front dumped more than a quarter inch of rain in Southern California over the weekend and more rain is forecast today. The Weather Bureau bulletin predicts scattered showers this afternoon likely continuing intermittently through Tuesday. The region remains more than seven inches behind last year’s total, with Long Beach at 1.65 inches for the year versus 8.94 a year ago. Weekend totals include .35 inch for Long Beach and 1 inch at Datta Point. Snow levels in the mountains dropped to 2,500 feet with heavier snow around 4,000 feet.
